36″ x 48″
Acrylic/mixed media on gallery wrapped canvas.
Sides are 1 1/2″ thick and are painted as extension of the front.
This painting was based from a close up picture I took on the island of Kauai at a beach called the glass beach. This beach was in front of an old dump and the sand was full of glass beads that had formed from broken glass worn smooth by the force of ocean waves. Some of those beads are attached to this painting.
I was there at low tide and walked out on the rocks were I found this old rusty turbine that must of come ashore from a ship wreck. The patina on it was beautiful and had numerous sea urchins and strange worm like lines on it. This painting is an attempt at recreating a small part of the patina and protozoa life growing on that rusty turbine.

Breakers Sunset, 24 x 30 Acrylic on canvas.
This abstract acrylic was done on a primed surface of light molding paste. The paint was poured onto the surface and built up in layers to create the rich dark purples and greens. The yellow drops were added second to last, with the high horizon line, being the last addition to complete the painting.
