High Tide

High Tide - Abstract Acrylic painting
12″ x 36″
Acrylic on canvas

Glass Beach I

36″ x 48″
Acrylic/mixed media on gallery wrapped canvas

This painting was based from a close up picture I took on the island of Kauai at a beach called the glass beach. This beach was in front of an old dump and the sand was full of glass beads that had formed from broken glass worn smooth by the force of ocean waves. Some of those beads are attached to this painting.

I was there at low tide and walked out on the rocks were I found this old rusty turbine that must of come ashore from a ship wreck. The patina on it was beautiful and had numerous sea urchins and strange worm like lines on it. This is my interpretation of the patina and protozoa life growing on that rusty turbine.

Picking Flowers – Abstract Acrylic painting

48″ x 60″ Acrylic on gallery wrapped canvas.

Large abstract acrylic. One of my first large pieces done with fluid acrylics. I really enjoyed having the large canvas to move paint around on. It dried in many unexpected ways.
