Storm Wind

24″ x 30″ Acrylic on canvas. Black floater frame.

From the Abstracted Landscape Series. I used the primary colors of red, yellow and blue, with the green coming mainly from the mixing of yellow and blue. A touch of white and some dark color added for depth.  A  male face appeared out of  the whites that reminds me of a Wind God, which is how I arrived at the title.

Alpine Vista

Alpine Vista, 36″ x 40″ Acrylic on canvas. Black floater frame.

Another in the Abstracted Landscape Series. When I was working on this painting, an artist friend of mine pointed out the snow covered huts/houses at the base of the hill along the shoreline. A happy occurrence I did not expect.

Lupine Meadows

25″ x 31″
Watercolor on paper

I started this painting by pouring watercolor paint and then building up areas with a brush. The white lupine pedals were masked before I started, so the white of the paper would become the flowers

Garden Series #8

Garden Series #8

Garden Series #8 25″ x 36″
Watercolor on paper

Part of the garden series. I watched this front yard garden grow every year when I lived in Sunnyvale, Ca. This garden inspired a number of paintings as I watched it grow and change. The lady that owned this property had a wonderful green thumb.
